Second in size only to the Pentagon in Washington, DC, The Palace of the Parliament,
with its spacious surroundings of 508,000 square meters is registered in The Guinness
Book of World Records under the chapter, 'Administrative Buildings'. The
interior halls occupy approximately 2000 square meters.

| The building itself measures 270 m in length
and 240 m in width. The impressive height of the Arch of Defense is 86 meters
and its volume is estimated to be 2,550,000 cubic meters. |  |

It has 12 floors, and more than 1,000 rooms along with innumerable entry rooms
and living rooms, some of them with 20 m high ceilings. |

dominate the great square and the Victory of Socialism Avenue (today known as
