Christmas in Romania: Between the Romanian Christmas customs it is the“colinde” - Romanian Christmas carols. The carols are sung before attending the Christmas Eve Liturgy the 24 of December.
The Romanian traditional carols remember the birth of Christ, is one of the most vibrant manifestations of the spirit of Christmas. We offer you some Romanian popular carols and we wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

"Christ is born, glorify Him!

Christ from heaven, go to meet Him!

Christ is upon earth, be exalted!

Sing to the Lord all the earth

And all you peoples raise the hymn with joy, for He has been glorified!"

Today the Virgin gives birth to the Transcendent One, And the earth offers a cave to the Unapproachable One! Angels with shepherds glorify Him! The wise men journey with a star! Since for our sake the Eternal God was born as a Little Child!
