The
Mud Volcanos of Berca |
| |
 |
Since 1924, the muddy volcanos of Bercan have been declared monuments of nature
and represent one of the most interesting geological and botanical reserves in
Romania. They also represent one of the rarest phenomena in the world. |
| The reserve is located 12 kms from Berca
and extends for 30 hectares. It is primarily formed by many volcanos of mud that
are continually erupting. | |
 |
This strange landscape has a moon-like appearance, but is surrounded
by green hills. |
| | |
 | |
| It is not another planet. It is Romania! | |
 | |
| | |
| | |
 | It's
not an alien, it's me! |
| Around the mud volcanoes
there are oil pumps. | |
