The country life here is quite difficult. To make a living, each family must
utilize the products of their own work in agriculture and cattle breeding. |
But in the toil of hard work, they find the
satisfaction of work well done. All produce is organically grown. Its wholesomeness
is reflected in its quality and taste, something that is noticed by visitors to
the village. | |
|
Everywhere in the village you can see free-range animals that exhibit, to the
delight of visitors, particular behaviors. For example, the geese go to the river
in the early morning and return home in the evening by themselves. |
| The cattle, on the other hand, are tended
by a peasant as they go to pasture. Interestingly enough, they return alone in
the evening by themselves, where the little calves await the milk!

| Each
family of Starchiojd cultivates the vegetable garden they own as well as breed
their own animals. The tilling of the soil is done with horses or manually. It's
not easy, but they appreciate the harvest, not only for the sustenance it offers,
but for what it represents-hard work, sacrifice and family values. |

door. He is satiated! |

During the summer, children and adults gather the hay. It is the winter provision
of food for the cattle! |

he has a major physical disability.

| After Christmas, we sacrifice a pig. This ritual
represents a special moment, since we had been fasting for 40 days before Christmas.
