Here is the highlight of your holidays-touring Romania, enjoying accommodations with the inhabitants, and discovering the sights and sounds of our country through the various excursions you decide to take. We hope that our internet website can answer many or all of your questions about this exciting adventure. We are currently offering you a promotional stay for half-board in our guesthouse in Starchiojd (including the possibility of seeing those free-range bears)!


Here is a sample itinerary for this exciting holiday :
Day 1 : Flight to Bucharest. Transfer to Starchiojd. Discover village life in the evening.
Day 2: Visit the salt Mine of Slanic (the largest salt mine in Europe); visit the Zamfira Monastery (the first monastery painted by the renowned Romanian painter, Nicolae Grigorescu and see the town of Ploiesti.
Day 3: Excursion to the Crasna Monastery, the most beautiful monastery in our area; in the afternoon visit the association "Pro Vita". It is a refuge for the children of the streets located in a setting of a mini-village designed for the care of these children. Currently there are almost 200 children living there.
Day 4: We visit the mud volcanos of Berca. On our return trip, we visit the Ciolanu Monastery and the camp of 'sculpture in stone' of Magura. Here you can hike through the lovely forest to the hermitage of the Ciolanu Monastery.

Day 5: Our departure begins through Carpathians by a small road to visit the famous Bran Castle, the medieval part of Brasov. In the evening you have the possibility of seeing the bears roaming through the country-side!

Day 6: We travel in a horse-drawn cart to see the scenic beauty of Romania. After midday, we visit with various local craftsmen such as the painter of icons and woodcarvers.

Day 7: Excursion to the mountains of Starchiojd. After midday, a tour of the Romanian kitchen. You will learn about the most famous recipes of Romanian cuisine---perhaps cooking some of dishes when you return home!

Day 8: Breakfast. Transfer to the airport of Bucharest for your return. Depending on the hour of your departure, we can give you a city tour or simply visit the museum.
