Our artisans can craft the icons that you desire. Here are some examples:

The Romanian icons

Full of mystical orthodoxy, this popular art is brought to life! Vivid colours, landscapes, floral motifs, and custom Romanian suits. All these feature regional or religious themes.

The iconographical paintings and the wall-painted icons served as the first Bible for the ancient believers. Since the average person could not read or write, they became aware of the holy texts through the painted images.

The icon represents an open window between sky and earth. It is a Christian sign that fulfils the soul's desire for sanctity and serenity.

The icons follow the orthodox believer from birth to the tomb. All parents blessed their children with icons. The everyday prayers said in front of the icons are an almost palpable dialogue with God whose presence is made visible through the iconic images.

For the faithful, a house without icons is worthless and empty.

Being in front of an orthodox icon means being in touch with a special "Being". This contact leads to a direct communication with God and all the saints and, at the same time, with an extraordinary artistic work. Romanian icons belong to an old Byzantine-Greek heritage and represent a certain way of feeling religious convictions. They are the symbols of the Faith.

The on-going tradition of painting the icons in Romania by peasant artists is an important means of keeping the Faith, the customs and the ancient traditions of the Romanian people alive.

"If you do not venerate the icons, you do not venerate the Son of God who is the living image of the Invisible God…..If The One who has no body, took the human body for you, you have the right of painting His human face."

Saint John of Damascus
